BEGINNER TO ADVANCED

FunDive Programs

Fun Dive Lessons teach participants the foundations of diving in a fun and inclusive environment. Classes include dryland and water time. Participants will learn to jump in different directions on the springboard and the platforms. No prior experience is necessary.

  1. Minnows

    Ages 4-6
    The very basics, for our littlest divers
    Young Minnows diver practicing basic jumps

    This 45 minute class is a unique experience for our littlest divers. This class teaches the very basics of diving in a fun and engaging environment.

    Duration: 45 minutes
    Prerequisite: Non-independent swimmers may use a lifejacket
  2. Level 1

    Ages 7-14
    Foundational jumps and fall-ins
    Level 1 diver learning forward jumps from springboard

    Fun Dive Level 1 introduces new participants to the foundational skills of diving. Participants will learn how to jump on the boards forwards and backwards from the pool side to 3 metre. Participants will be introduced to front fall-ins and backward fall-ins.

    Duration: 1 hour
    Prerequisite: Swim 10 metres comfortably in deep water

  3. Level 2

    Ages 7-14
    More complex jumps and fall-ins
    Level 2 diver practicing complex jumps from springboard

    Divers entering Level 2 should have a good general knowledge of the foundations of diving (jumps, fall-ins, take-offs). More complex jumps and fall-ins will be introduced from a variety of board heights.

    Duration: 1 hour
    Prerequisite: Successful completion of Level 1

  4. Level 3

    Ages 8-14
    Take-offs, entries and body alignment
    Level 3 diver working on body alignment and take-offs

    In Level 3, participants build on the basics learned in previous levels. There is an emphasis on take offs, entries and body alignment from both the springboard and platform. Dryland time will include gymnastics skills, core work and flexibility. Participants will be introduced to a hurdle step, back fall in (3m) and jumps from 5 metre.

    Duration: 1-1.5 hours
    Prerequisite: Successful completion of Level 2

  5. Level 4

    Ages 8-14
    Somersaults, dives and independent water work
    Level 4 diver performing advanced somersault dive

    This class includes advanced dry land skills using the air track. Participants will develop their take offs for different dive directions. Somersaults are introduced along with back and front dives. There is a continued focus on take offs, connection in the air and body position in a dive. Participants will learn to work independently during water time by following a dive list prepared by their coach.

    Duration: 1-1.5 hours
    Prerequisite: Successful completion of Level 3

Gym + Jump!

Dryboards + trampoline to build coordination, balance and strength
WRD Dryland Gym with dryboards and trampoline for Gym + Jump

Fun Dive participants looking to progress their skills will have the opportunity to use dryboards and a trampoline. This one hour class is designed to help improve coordination, balance and strength. It is a great addition to your divers water practice and is intended to enhance their skill development.

Duration: 1 hour
Prerequisite: Completed one session of Level 1
Tuesday 5-6pm: Ages 6-9
Wednesday 7-8pm: Ages 10-14

AGES 18+

Adult Classes

Jumps, fall-ins and technique — dryland + water, no experience necessary
Adult diver practicing jump technique on springboard

“The ultimate challenge for both mind and body.”

Ready for a new activity to add to your weekly workouts? In Adult diving classes you will learn the basics of jumps and fall-ins and eventually many more advanced skills for different directions, positions and heights! This 1 hour 30 minute class includes dryland and water time. Participants will be introduced to diving technique and foundational skills.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Prerequisite: No experience necessary
